Bernard C Day was born in Leicestershire, England in 1884. He was employed by the New Arrol-Johnson Motor Car Company before he joined the British Antarctic Expedition, 1907-1909 (leader Ernest Henry Shackleton), as motor expert on board the Nimrod . Reginald William Skelton was born in Lincolnshire in 1872.
